We know they’re trying to get more and there’s of course the domestic program that hopefully will be ready soon but the other option is to target the archer rather than shooting down the arrows. And that’s something NATO is helping with.

Today we’re joined by Colonel Valerii Vyshnivskyi of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center to discuss a new challenge: persistent airfield denial. This is part of a series of innovation challenges put on by NATO where companies from alliance countries submit their solutions and compete for the potential to receive support to develop their products.

Russia’s hybrid warfare against Europe may be entering a far more dangerous phase. In this conversation, Prof and Greg Terry examine sabotage, cyber operations, GPS interference, drones, suspected attacks beyond Ukraine, and the growing risk that Moscow could eventually miscalculate its way into a direct confrontation with NATO.

The discussion focuses on why Vladimir Putin may believe the West still lacks the willingness to respond decisively. Greg draws on more than three decades of experience working in Russia and the region to explain the Kremlin mindset, while the conversation turns to Germany, Poland, the Baltic states, Moldova, Transnistria, Odessa, and the possibility that Russia is deliberately testing the limits of NATO’s tolerance.

They also examine signs surrounding possible Russian mobilization, Moscow’s wartime economy, NATO air-defense shortages, Donald Tusk’s increasingly forceful posture toward Russia, and the danger that one hybrid operation causing significant European casualties could trigger political pressure for a much stronger response.

The central warning is simple: Russia may view Western restraint not as de-escalation, but as permission to keep pushing. Putin has declared an emergency meeting with Lukashenko over the situation with Russia's dire conditions in the war, and further escalations that may be conducted against Ukraine or NATO. Russia is in a massive spending deficit because of war, and with fuel shortages now bringing whole cities to a stop. Russia has threatened the UK again with military actions, stating that the UK is "playing with fire" and that they will regret their current actions in support of Ukraine. Ukrainian drones conducted another major attack on Russia overnight, hitting a OZON near Ufa, and also attempted to hit a Soda Ash plant in Sterlitimak. Russia seems to be working on preparing an offensive on Ukraine from the city of Gomel along the border, with further works made to make this a reality in the future. NATO is stated to be in a very compromising position due to the lack of Patriot air defenses, with one US official saying that NATO could take heavy hits if a conflict starts with Russia currently.

Iran’s military and security forces are experiencing desertion problems, with desertion rates reaching as high as 90 percent in some units, Iran International media outlet reported on Monday. According to the report, 350 police forces abandoned their posts at a single base and the overall operational preparedness of security forces is believed to have declined. Low morale, economic hardship, dissatisfaction contribute to the unrest within segments of Iran’s military and security forces. According to information obtained by the outlet, an estimated 5,000 personnel from Iran’s military and security apparatus have been killed, with over 15,000 more injured, during the ongoing US-Israeli strikes that began on February 25. A significant portion of the fatalities occurred during air attacks targeting missile and drone divisions. Among those most heavily affected are members of the Revolutionary Guards, Basij militias, and units responsible for riot control. The same sources suggest that the government has attempted to keep the scale of losses from public view by limiting funeral and burial gatherings. Families of the deceased have reportedly been instructed to conduct mourning ceremonies in private. Information reviewed by Iran International indicates that members of certain police special units were informed on Friday of disruptions in salary payments. This marks the third such delay in recent months. In reaction, some personnel reportedly refused to participate in pro-government demonstrations, and operational deployments in several major cities were affected. Further reports suggest that retired personnel and some members of the regular army have gone unpaid for two consecutive months. There are also claims that some senior officials blame the Revolutionary Guards for taking advantage of financial difficulties at Bank Sepah, allegedly using the situation to weaken police forces while bolstering institutions aligned with the clerical leadership. Additional accounts indicate that the Revolutionary Guards have attempted to address staffing shortages by calling retirees back into service and offering certain prisoners amnesty in exchange for cooperation with security forces. Within the air force, morale and readiness are described as low. Following reports that a Yak-130 aircraft was shot down during an encounter with an Israeli F-35, many pilots are said to be hesitant to carry out combat missions against Israeli or US forces. Official casualty rate among military personnel since the US-Israeli Epic Fury operation was launched, has not been revealed yet
