Thank You for Standing With Ukraine

Donald Trump announced an immediate energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, claiming both sides had already agreed. But President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine was unaware of any such agreement, while a Russian State Duma energy official also says he knows nothing about it. So what exactly did Trump announce—and where is the agreement?

In this urgent October 11 update, Greg Terry examines Trump's declaration, Zelenskyy's response, and reports of continuing Russian drone strikes and air alerts across Ukraine. Zelenskyy makes clear that Ukraine is prepared to reciprocate if Russia stops attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure. But supporting a proposed ceasefire is not the same as confirming an agreement already exists.

Zelenskyy also responds directly to pressure from Trump and Elon Musk, challenges demands for Ukrainian elections during wartime, and says a 60-day total ceasefire would allow Ukraine to organize a vote. He argues that it is easier for critics to pressure Ukraine than to stop Vladimir Putin. Greg examines the timing of Trump's statement, the continuing attacks, and the sharp contradiction between a proclaimed ceasefire and the responses from Kyiv and Moscow.

The central question is accountability: Can Washington announce peace without a verified agreement from the countries actually fighting the war? Greg separates the reported statements from his analysis as this breaking story unfolds.

The global situation just escalated fast — Ukraine is striking Russia’s Shadow Fleet, Russia is targeting Ukrainian fuel infrastructure, and the Patriot question is still not solved.

In this update, I break down Zelenskyy’s comments on the PAC-3 shortage and Ukraine’s push for a European anti-ballistic defense system, Peskov’s response from the Kremlin, and why Russia is framing Patriot production and air defense support as NATO activity on Ukrainian territory.

We also look at Russia’s growing attacks on Ukrainian gas stations, the geography behind the fuel pressure campaign, Ukraine’s ballistic missile testing, Peter Pavel’s warning about a critical two-month window, and the latest reports on Shadow Fleet strikes and a possible renewed threat against Kyiv.

This is a serious moment for Ukraine, Europe, NATO, and the United States — and the next few weeks could shape the battlefield in a major way.

Like, comment, subscribe, and share this update if you want clear, fact-grounded Ukraine coverage without Kremlin spin.

I examine reports from the Financial Times, the Kyiv Independent, The Economist, The Telegraph, and Bloomberg that the Trump administration has threatened to restrict intelligence cooperation and Pearl Program weapons support if Ukraine continues striking Russian oil infrastructure. Ukrainian sources also reportedly fear sanctions affecting F-16AM spare-parts deliveries, while European capitals are said to be under pressure to stop supplying weapons.

I separate reported facts from political commentary and ask what leverage Washington still holds—and what would be lost if intelligence sharing were curtailed. I also cover the reported Russian diesel arrangement, the strike on the NZNP Rostovsky oil-products terminal in Rostov-on-Don, fuel-price politics ahead of the midterms, and Admiral James Stavridis’s argument that a credible ceasefire strategy requires sustained pressure on Russia, coordination with Europe, and continued support for Ukraine.

In this episode of *24 with Fardad Farahzad* Donald Trump declares he is not afraid to deploy ground forces inside Iran and says the United States is not yet ready to end its military operations, claiming Iran’s military infrastructure has been largely destroyed and weakened for years to come. The program covers Israel’s confirmation of the killing of Ali Larijani and the head of the Basij, with Benjamin Netanyahu calling it an opportunity for the Iranian people, while Israeli strikes on checkpoints and suppression forces continue. Reports from Tehran describe public reactions to Larijani’s death and ongoing drone attacks targeting security positions. The show also highlights nationwide Chaharshanbe Suri gatherings, as Reza Pahlavi urges peaceful celebrations and warns security forces to stand down, alongside discussions about a potential nationwide uprising, growing political tensions in Washington over the war, and the announcement of a transitional justice committee aimed at prosecuting senior officials of the Islamic Republic in a post-regime scenario.
