Rumors circulating in Arab media and across social platforms claim that Iran’s Quds Force Chief Esmail Qaani may have been detained or executed by the IRGC over alleged links to Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency. Reports suggest Iranian authorities suspected intelligence leaks during recent regional tensions. However, there has been no official confirmation from Iran regarding Qaani’s detention, interrogation, or execution.

Esmail Qaani took command of Iran’s Quds Force in 2020 after the killing of Qassem Soleimani and has since overseen Iran’s overseas military operations and coordination with allied groups across the Middle East. The latest claims have sparked widespread speculation online, but much of the information remains unverified and based on anonymous sources and regional media reports.
