Ukraine’s overnight drone campaign reportedly struck 15 vessels in the Sea of Azov while hammering energy facilities and Russian air defenses across occupied Crimea.

In this July 13 war update, Greg Terry examines Ukraine’s growing long-range strike campaign, including reported attacks on seven tankers, five cargo ships, Crimean infrastructure, S-400 systems, radar stations, and other Russian military targets.

Iranian proxies have announced a blockade against Saudi Arabia in the Bab-El Mendeb, while simultaneously conducting an attack on a large oil tanker within the Strait of Hormuz. Largely it appears that the Islamic Republic of Iran is now aiming for multiple different angles (invasion of Iraq/ Kuwait - Houthi Blockade) to try and build any pressure possible to make the US give up on the current war. Meanwhile US forces have been striking missiles forces inside of Iran and bombarding the coastline. The names of 2 US deceased service members has been released, including Private Gonzales and 1st Lt. Freehan of the US Army Air Defenses. Meanwhile Ukrainian forces have conducted another drone attack on Moscow, while damaged ships from the Azov sea attacks pile up in ports all around the area. Air defenses forces have been hit in Crimea, and Ukraine is still working towards a possible replacement for Oleksandr Syrski.

Ukraine is mourning after a devastating day of Russian strikes. In Kryvyi Rih, the confirmed toll from the attack on a shopping mall rose to 15 killed and 130 injured, including 23 children. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack and said Ukraine will respond.

The violence extended beyond Kryvyi Rih. A drone struck a minibus in Zaporizhzhia, while a Shahed attack on a multipurpose building in Tokarivka in the Mykolaiv region killed four people, including three boys. Against that backdrop, Ukraine also revealed the first batch of the Alexa Spatium interceptor drone—a mobile, turbojet-powered system designed to counter Russian kamikaze and Shahed-type drones and capable of returning for reuse if an interception is unsuccessful.

The video also examines new signs of pressure inside Russia: testimony that two military-age men were prevented from leaving the country despite having valid documents, and a Russian frontline soldier describing the horror of missions where five men are sent out and only one returns. These accounts raise serious questions about Russian casualties, manpower, and the possibility of future mobilization.

Under the bright lights of Los Angeles, a man sits silently on the curb, wrapped in a coat with someone else’s name stitched on it. He isn’t begging , he’s surviving. His story is just one of millions that expose a truth America still refuses to face.
In this video, we uncover how racism and redlining shaped generations of homelessness among Black and Brown communities. From the 1930s housing maps that labeled entire neighborhoods “high-risk,” to the modern streets where evictions and gentrification push families into tents, the cycle hasn’t ended , it’s only evolved.
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness (2025), Black Americans make up only 13% of the U.S. population yet account for over 40% of the homeless. The Housing Up report adds that 64% of the unhoused are Black or Hispanic. These aren’t just numbers , they’re proof that history’s red lines are still drawn across today’s city blocks.
We’ll trace this legacy from past to present , from discriminatory loans to unequal policing , and ask one powerful question:

Those losses include aircraft, air-defense systems, radars, and a mobile ballistic-missile launcher.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin insists Ukrainian strikes are producing no significant change and will never give Kyiv an advantage. Today the biggest news comes from the Liman direction. 

Here, Russian forces are continuing to pull back from positions west of the Zherebets River, allowing Ukrainian forces to expand their control across several settlements and secure new ground along the river line. After Russian withdrawals from the areas of Zelena Dolyna and Shandryholove, Ukrainian troops continued their counterattacks with limited resistance, pushing deeper into the previously contested zone. In the Liman direction, Ukrainian forces retook Myrne, while further north in the Borova direction they entered Novolyubivka and reached the western side of Balka Zhuravka, bringing additional sections of the riverbank under Ukrainian control. These advances have given Ukraine control over another thirteen square kilometers of Luhansk Oblast, which Russian officials claimed they have captured in full. Reaching the Zherebets River means Russian forces now have to prepare defenses along a wider section of the front, as Ukrainian positions along the river create several possible directions for future offensive operations.

As Russian forces began withdrawing from positions west of the Zherebets River, Ukrainian forces pushed forward with smaller infiltration groups across the river while gradually consolidating control of the western bank. Russian sources have reported Ukrainian groups appearing across the Zherebets River, indicating that Ukrainian forces are already probing the eastern bank and identifying vulnerable areas behind the frontline. Because Russian commanders have refused to acknowledge the full extent of the Ukrainian advance, many drone operators, support teams, and command posts have stayed in the same areas instead of withdrawing and regrouping farther east. This leaves them exposed to Ukrainian ambushes, allowing Ukrainian groups to strike the personnel and equipment supporting Russian operations behind the frontline and delay the preparation of new defensive positions along the eastern bank. As a result, Russian commanders must manage threats on both sides of the river at the same time, while Ukrainian forces use the disruption to strengthen their positions closer to the frontline. 

While Russian units are attempting to reorganize behind the frontline and guessing where Ukraine will launch its main effort, Ukrainian forces are clearing remaining positions, improving logistics, and preparing the formations that will take part in the next phase of the operation. A river crossing also requires the ability to keep forces supplied after reaching the opposite bank, with stable logistics and continuous drone support needed to hold new positions. Ukrainian infiltrators across the river are disrupting Russian lines and creating the time needed for the main Ukrainian force to move support closer, strengthen its positions, and prepare the follow up assault. Without this preparation, a rapid crossing would leave Ukrainian forces vulnerable after reaching the opposite bank, while the disruption of Russian positions gives Ukraine more time to organize the forces needed to continue the advance.

Overall, Ukraine’s advances along the Zherebets River have created a new position from which Ukrainian forces can continue developing their operations. Ukrainian infiltrators are already disrupting Russian rear areas, while units on the western bank are securing their positions and preparing for further movement along the river. The return of Ukrainian forces into Luhansk Oblast challenges Russian efforts to present the region as permanently secured and gives Ukraine a foothold in an area Moscow has spent years trying to control. The longer Russia struggles to stabilize this sector, the more time Ukraine has to turn these gains into a larger offensive effort.

Today, there is important news from the Druzhkivka direction. 

Here, a dangerous Russian penetration formed northeast of Dobropillia, as Russian forces had spent time accumulating troops around the Shahove area, attempting to expand in several directions around Hruzke and Novomykolaivka. Elements of Russia’s Ninetieth Tank Division and the Eighth Combined Arms Army sought Ukrainian logistical routes that could support an operational encirclement of Druzhkivka while opening another route toward Dobropillia. Had that worked, Russia could have threatened communications supporting the wider Ukrainian defense of the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Instead of waiting for that to develop, Ukraine attacked the penetration systematically from multiple directions.

Once Ukrainian commanders concluded Russia was establishing a staging area rather than conducting isolated infiltrations, reinforcements were called in. The First Azov Corps deployed its Tuman special-purpose detachment alongside elements of the recently subordinated Skala Assault Regiment. The operation also involved Azov reconnaissance  battalions with experienced drone operators. Crucially, representatives from participating formations planned the operation together rather than operating independently.

Their first objective was not immediately storming Russian positions. Ukraine instead isolated the concentration area with firepower, restricting Russian movement and preventing additional expansion before assault groups advanced. The Ukrainian soldiers attacked the Russian positions on the ground while FPV drones, bomber drones, and artillery worked around them. When Russian soldiers entrenched themselves in shelters that would have been expensive to storm directly, Ukrainian troops stopped, transmitted their locations, and requested drone strikes. Once those positions were suppressed or destroyed, assault troops moved forward and cleared them.

That coordination allowed Ukraine to squeeze the penetration from multiple directions rather than simply pushing against its strongest point. Ukraine simultaneously attacked Russia’s fire support by conducting a specialized operation against Russian artillery, employing drone-delivered munitions designed to damage howitzer barrels. Destroying those guns reduced Russia’s ability to suppress Ukrainian assault groups while they advanced, while Ukrainian artillery provided another layer of support, creating a combined reconnaissance-strike system around infantry moving through extremely difficult terrain.

This was particularly important because evacuation was dangerous, as open terrain and dense Russian drone activity meant a seriously wounded Ukrainian soldier could be difficult to extract. Commanders therefore emphasized destroying detected Russian positions remotely whenever a direct assault created unnecessary risk.

To achieve the essential real-time coordination, a liaison officer from the Twelfth Azov Brigade remained at the command-and-observation post, allowing assault troops, drones, and supporting formations to exchange information immediately. Skala’s participation was particularly significant because this became its first operation under Azov’s operational command. The result was the dismantling of the Russian concentration and the complete elimination of the breakthrough that had taken months to establish. Azov reported two-hundred-thirty-seven Russian soldiers killed, forty-four wounded, and three captured during the operation.

Overall, more importantly than the number of losses, Russia failed to transform its infiltration into the logistical breakthrough it needed. As a result, the reinforced Russian formations around Dobropillia failed to generate major advances despite substantial redeployments during the summer. At the same time, Ukraine has now bought additional time around Druzhkivka and Dobropillia while forcing Russia to absorb another round of losses. Instead of becoming the staging ground for a wider breakthrough, the penetration became an isolated concentration attacked by Ukrainian infantry, artillery, and drones from multiple directions. That means another delay for the Russian command’s broader objective: breaking Ukraine’s Donetsk defenses and capturing the remaining Ukrainian-held part of the region.

Things are just getting started in the east
