This morning, Crimea has now declared widespread water shortages as they no longer have the ability to run the pumps to feed the water to local towns and villages. Russian authorities are trying to maintain order, but people have understandably begun to panic. Meanwhile, Ukraine struck and destroyed a large part of Crimea’s Sevastopol power plant which supplies 50% of the electricity to the entire peninsula as it seems that quick repairs are very unlikely. Meanwhile, Russian authorities have announced that mobile phone service is now being “rationed” in some cities in Crimea — further fueling fears that Putin may decide to turn off the internet to censor any growing civil unrest. Meanwhile in Iran, we have seen a new series of major strikes on Iran’s coast as U.S. Officials finalize plans to hit “strategic targets” far wider in scope than merely the Iranian coast.

This could be the new normal for quite a while

It’s looking more and more that we’ve reached an impasse in Iran.
Trump will not accept Iran's newest terms as that would signal a clear US defeat. However, a significant escalation to change the dynamics also seems unlikely. That leaves us with how things sit today: Iran with de-facto control of the Strait of Hormuz. Sanctions will stay in place and economic relief won't be granted, but real nuclear negotiations probably won't come together anytime soon.

Now President Trump remains optimistic just a few hours ago stating "It will work out. It always works out.”

Ukraine delivered what Greg calls a fantastic night of long-range strikes, while Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued one of his strongest warnings yet about Russia, European security, and Poland’s rapidly growing military power.

Russia claimed it intercepted 598 Ukrainian drones across 19 regions, Crimea, and surrounding seas—a figure that remains an unverified Russian claim. Ukraine also reported a major strike involving the Flamingo FP-5 against the TsSKB Progress facility in Samara, a strategically important center connected to Russia’s rocket and satellite industrial base. Ukraine also struck Savasleyka Air Base, home to MiG-31 aircraft associated with Kinzhal missile launches against Ukraine.

The contrast remains brutal. While Ukraine targets Russian military and industrial infrastructure, Russia continued its own barrage against Ukraine. Greg discusses reports of 152 drones overnight and the heartbreaking death of a three-month-old infant in Marhanets. Russia continues striking civilian targets in Ukraine while Washington considers new measures that could ease economic pressure on Moscow. President Zelenskyy is drawing a hard line: Russia's war has not stopped, and sanctions should not be lifted. Meanwhile, reports involving frozen Russian assets, sanctioned shadow-fleet tankers, and Russian oil exports raise serious questions about the direction of American policy.

In today's update, Greg Terry examines the destruction of a grocery store in Ukraine's Odesa region, reported Ukrainian strikes against Russian Su-34 aircraft, and Zelenskyy's decision to resume attacks on Russian oil refineries.
