In a striking contrast between Washington's messaging and Moscow's actions, Putin calls for continued massive strikes against Ukraine, praises Russia's battlefield operations, and makes clear that key Russian security demands will not be open to peace negotiations.

Putin’s Corporate Hostages: Why Russia Is Taking Oligarchs’ Firms and Western Businesses

I examine how Putin plans to finance a proposed 17.1 trillion-ruble military budget for 2027—an increase of roughly 27%—while Russia faces a projected 7.3 trillion-ruble deficit, rising taxes, costly borrowing, and treasury yields reaching 16.88%. With military and security spending set to account for 44% of projected spending, the Kremlin is shifting the burden onto households, businesses, and seized property.

I trace the coercive model through the cases of Konstantin Strukov’s gold assets, Vadim Moshkovich and Rusagro, Ilya Traber’s port interests, and the takeover of Makfa. I also look at the temporary management of Metro AG, Nestlé, Auchan, and former Leroy Merlin operations; the 471 billion rubles in supposedly voluntary billionaire contributions; and plans to sell confiscated assets. The strategic question is whether confiscation, debt, and pressure on private capital can sustain Putin’s war—or further hollow out Russia’s economy.

I examine the Washington Post’s reported four-part proposal for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine: reconstruction, Article V-style security guarantees, Russia’s economic reintegration with Europe, and a ceasefire along the existing line of control. The central question is who pays—and who gives up leverage. The proposal reportedly offers reconstruction without Russian reparations while contemplating renewed Russian oil and gas flows to Europe.

I also assess the reported Florida talks involving Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Ukrainian officials, including pressure on Kyiv to stop striking Russian refineries and a possible Russian diesel arrangement. Putin’s reported demand for the remaining 11% of Donbas, uncertainty over missile-warning intelligence for Kyiv, Ukraine’s EU-accession progress, and continued attacks on energy infrastructure all expose the same problem: guarantees and ceasefires mean little without enforceable consequences when Russia violates them.

Dai produttori di Monkeypaw Productions e dal Premio Oscar® Jordan Peele — autori di successi cult come Scappa – Get Out, Noi, Candyman e Nope — arriva HIM, un inquietante viaggio nei lati oscuri della fama, del potere e dell’ossessione per l’eccellenza. Protagonista di questa intensa parabola è Marlon Wayans (Air, Respect), in un’interpretazione sorprendente e drammatica.

HIM segue la storia di Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers, Atlanta, So Cosa Hai Fatto), un promettente quarterback che ha sacrificato tutto per il football. Alla vigilia del celebre scouting Combine della NFL, un’aggressione violenta da parte di un fan gli provoca un trauma cranico che rischia di porre fine alla sua carriera.

Quando ogni speranza sembra svanita, il leggendario campione Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), icona indiscussa del football con otto titoli all’attivo, gli offre un’ultima possibilità: allenarsi nel suo misterioso compound, dove vive con la moglie Elsie (Julia Fox, Diamanti Grezzi, No Sudden Move), celebre influencer. Ma l’allenamento prende una piega inquietante: il carisma di Isaiah inizia a mostrare un lato oscuro, e Cam si ritrova intrappolato in una spirale di controllo, manipolazione e paura.

Il cast include anche Tim Heidecker, leggenda della comicità alternativa (Noi), il comico australiano Jim Jefferies, la star dell’hip hop Guapdad 4000, il lottatore Maurice Greene, e la candidata ai Grammy Tierra Whack, tutti al loro debutto cinematografico.

Diretto da Justin Tipping (Kicks), il film è tratto da una sceneggiatura della Black List firmata da Zack Akers & Skip Bronkie (Limetown) insieme allo stesso Tipping. A produrre il film, Ian Cooper, Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld e Jamal M. Watson per Monkeypaw Productions, con David Kern e Kate Oh come produttori esecutivi.
